Within the past couple of years, we have been signing up younger and younger individuals for medical alert systems. Years ago, the majority of these customers were disabled, and/or recovering from an accidents. The majority of the younger individuals with medical alert systems is shifting to those who are diabetic. When asked why they decided to get a medical alert for themselves, there were around 2 main reasons:
1.) Their blood sugar dropped to the point where they could barely function
2.) Their blood sugar skyrocketed and again, they could barely function.
When they press the button, a lot of them want neighbors, friends or caregivers to be contacted first rather than the paramedics. At no additional charge, we can put on file a list of as many contacts as necessary as well as specific instructions and a detailed medical history. No matter your age, it is important to be protected, especially while living alone.
