It is not often that there is a widespread medical alert, but when it comes to vitamin-E, it seems that the supplements cause more harm than good. With the current studies, Vitamin-E was shown to not only not be effective in reducing prostate cancer, but to actually increase your chance of getting the cancer. With the addition of selenium, the risk of getting prostate cancer compounded.
The conclusion of these studies is that supplements are often not the best way to augment an unhealthy or even healthy lifestyle. The best way to ensure that you are getting all of the vitamins and nutrients your body needs is to maintain a well balanced diet with a variety of plants, fruits, meats and vegetables. Bon apetit!
