Despite all the evidence that exists with aging and memory loss, there is something that helps those who age boost their memory. Seniors have the ability to “hyper-bind” irrelevant information and tie it to other more relevant information to remember both parts of the information during an event. This means that although it is harder to remember something specific, there are triggers and if you can properly use these triggers to remember all parts of a situation, you should be able to increase your memory. Try associating certain things with other events (create a picture in your head and visualize the picture and the memory) and you’ll be surprised with how much your memory increases.
