In 2005, almost a decade ago, Prime Medical Alert setup shop in Scottsdale, Arizona, selling medical alert systems. We set out to differentiate our company from the other medical alert companies, and sought the best equipment and the highest trained operators. Unlike our local competition in Scottsdale at the time, we offered certified EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) as well as new equipment. Instead of saving money on the monitoring service, we provided paramedic quality operators. What this translated to is client retention. The operators are trained for over 6 weeks and have to pass a rigorous course with testing. After they complete the training program, they are able to work as certified EMTs. Instead of working on answering calls or taking burglary alarms, they specialize in medical alert systems. Since then, we have moved into a bigger office in Phoenix, Arizona and continue to offer a superior product backed by superior service.
Our current necklace and bracelets have a range of up to 1000 feet, far more than any competitors. They are water resistant; they work in the shower, bathtub, while gardening, washing the dishes, etc. The battery life on the necklaces and bracelets is 4-5 years and therefore minimal maintenance is required from the client. All of the tests are done automatically and if there is an issue, one of our technical support technicians will give you a call to trouble shoot the equipment and since we are based in Scottsdale, Arizona, we can bring you new equipment if necessary; very rare and most of the calls are due to user based damage like running the bracelet or necklace over with a car, etc.
Another factor that differentiates us is our response time. We are able to tap right into the local first responders and dispatch and ambulance, the fire department or the police department depending on the emergency. This greatly speeds up the time from when the user presses their emergency medical alerts to the time they receive help. Additionally, we over staff our monitoring station to ensure that every call is answered as quickly as possible.
In the event of a power failure our Scottsdale medical alert systems continue to operato because of their backup battery. They operate for nearly 32 hours and in the mean time, an EMT will call the client to make sure they don’t need assistance during the power failure. Additionally, this prevents the medical alert plug from being unplugged and if this is the case, the client can easily fix it.
