Emergency Medical Alert Button

Emergency Medical Alert Buttons and Their Importance

There are many different names for emergency medical alert buttons and most people know that they come in both necklace and bracelet forms. These necklaces and bracelets have buttons on them, which are referred to as emergency buttons and as soon as the user presses their necklace or bracelet, the user in distress is connected to the monitoring center. Once they are connected to the monitoring center, they can ask for a variety of things. Whether it is a medical emergency, the client smells smoke, thinks someone is outside, or for one or another reason can’t get to the phone, we can dispatch or connect him or her to his or her emergency contacts. With our service, there are no fees for usage. You don’t have to worry about paying for usage and therefore when in doubt, we encourage the clients to use the service.

If the power goes out, our emergency medical alert button systems have backup batteries. They will continue to work for up to 32 hours. Also, when the power goes out, our operators are notified and call the client to make sure everything is all right. If they need assistance, we can get them the assistance they need right away. Especially during storms and other power outages, those with limited mobility can find themselves in a difficult situation. These mechanisms help to put our clients and their families at ease.

Now you may ask yourself, is my loved one or I ready for an emergency medical alert button? If you are asking this question, the answer is probably yes. Emergency medical alert buttons are much less invasive than they used to be. Setup takes only a couple of minutes and once you receive the unit, it is completely programmed. You simply plug the power cord in and plug the phone cord into the phone jack. If you don’t have a home phone or landline telephone, mention this to our operators and we can definitely get you setup with the right system.

Once the system is setup, you simply press your emergency medical alert button and wait for the system to connect to the central monitoring station. During this time, the system self activates and an operator will come on to let you know the activation is successful. Additionally, they will verify the information on file. If there are any changes, you can let them know or you can make the changes on the forms that come with the system. Also, you can have as many emergency contacts, health information and any other pertinent information (such as alternative dispatches) on file.
