Are Blood Type and Heart Disease Related?

A new study shows that people who have AB blood type have a higher risk than those who have type O. 90,000 people were tracked over a 20 year period and the study found that those with AB had a 23% increased chance of heart disease, those with B were 11% more likely and those with A were 5% more likely.

Even though the researchers currently don’t know why the different blood types are causing and increased heart disease risk, they are guessing that AB blood types have a higher level of inflammation in their bodies.
