High testosterone helps men retain muscle mass as they age. A new study compared the testosterone levels of men who are over 65. It found over four years, the men with the highest testosterone levels loss less leg function and could stand up more easily from a chair. The loss of muscle mass and strength contributes to weakness and frailty, associated with increased falls, mobility issues and fractures.
