Installation Guide - Traditional PERS
| Step 1 | ![]() |
The first step in setting up your system is to decide on a location. Larger homes should choose a centrally located area. Make sure the location has access to a power outlet along with a wall jack for phone cord insertion. |
|
| Step 2 | ![]() |
If there is an existing phone on the wall jack, simply unplug the phone. This phone will be plugged into the back of the medical alarm unit, and will continue to function as usual. This goes for any type of device such as an answering machine, caller identification box, blood pressure monitor, etc... |
|
| Step 3 | ![]() |
There is already a phone cord plugged into the medical alarm system (see step X for an upclose picture). Simply plug the phone cord attached to the medical alert into the wall jack. You are about 1/3 done with the entire setup! |
|
| Step 4 | ![]() |
Plug the power cord into the power outlet. Make sure the outlet is always on and not controlled by a switch. |
|
| Step 5 | ![]() |
This is a close up of the back of the unit. Notice the diagram to the right of where the phone line is inserted into; we will use this as our guide. The phone line that is attached with the unit on arrival is plugged into the "Line" position. |
|
| Step 6 | ![]() |
If there is a phone or any other device already plugged into the wall, unplug the existing cord from the wall, simply plug the cord into the "Phone" position. |
|
| Step 7 | ![]() |
Now locate the on off switch and slide it into the on position. If you hear the words “Time Off” you know you did it correctly. |
|
| Step 8 | ![]() |
There should be a solid green light on the front of the unit to let you know the unit is receiving power. |
